Brendan Rodgers: 'Onus is on Steven Gerrard against Arsenal'

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers talks up the responsibility on Steven Gerrard against Arsenal this afternoon.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has talked up the responsibility he has placed on Steven Gerrard against Arsenal this afternoon.

The Reds captain will play in a deep midfield role and the Northern Irishman believes that the onus is on the skipper to orchestrate his side's attacks.

Speaking to BT Sport, Rodgers said: "He's showed up fantastically in that role. He's playmaker from deep really.

"He'll have to get on the ball and instigate the attacks from deep. We've got great confidence in our form here [at Anfield].
