Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has backed Garry Monk to be a success at Swansea City.
Monk, who recently took charge at the Liberty Stadium, came up against his former boss on Sunday as Liverpool earned a 4-3 victory over the Swans in the Premier League.
Despite the 34-year-old winning just one of his first five games as manager, Rodgers believes that Monk will keep the team up this season.
"He's a good man and he'll be up from early morning until late at night making Swansea successful," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com.
"He's been thrown in at the deep end with no experience and I think how he's dealt with it has been fantastic, really calm.
"Garry's a guy that can really carry the club forward. I hope that he gets a continued chance to build his career as a manager."
Swansea are currently in 12th place in the Premier League table, four points above the relegation zone.
