Brendan Rodgers has claimed that Manchester City's formation against Liverpool shows his side a "great amount of respect".
City have named just one striker for the visit of the Reds, with Alvaro Negredo named as the lone forward.
"I look at the Manchester City team and I see a great amount of respect for us," Rodgers told BT Sport.
"For the 24 of the 26 games that they have played, they have played 4-4-2. They have switched to three in midfield. For us it is a mark of respect and our structure.
"I also see top players and they are going to be one of the superpowers of the game. It's a real challenge for us."
