Brendan Rodgers: 'Arsenal rout was wonderful to watch'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says that it was "wonderful to watch" his side run riot against Arsenal on their way to a 5-1 win at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has acknowledged that it was "wonderful to watch" his side run riot against Arsenal on Saturday.

The Reds made a blistering start to the match and found themselves 4-0 up within 20 minutes, before going on to beat the then-league leaders 5-1 at Anfield.

"It was an outstanding win. We were on top of our game at the weekend. Of course, it gets magnified more when it's against a top team, but we've had many similar performances this season against different opponents," Rodgers told reporters.

"But certainly it was wonderful to watch the team playing with that concentration, organisation, focus and quality - and it was particularly pleasing to see so many young players, and young British players."

Liverpool are due to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday, although proposed strike action on the London Underground has called that match into question.
