Stoke City manager Tony Pulis insists that there should be a clampdown on simulation in football following Luis Suarez's admission to diving.

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has called for a clampdown on diving in football following a confession by Liverpool's Luis Suarez.

The Reds striker caused a stir when he admitted to deliberately "falling" in area in an attempt to win a penalty when the two teams met last October.

"The FA should look at it on a Monday after the games have been played at the weekend, and people who have been caught simulating should be punished," Sky Sports News quotes Pulis as saying.

"I think if you do that - if you give them three, four or five games or whatever - then it will take it out of the game.

"With simulation, I think if a player is found blatantly diving to gain an advantage, whether it is a penalty or conning a referee into giving a decision, they should be dealt with very severely."

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers vowed to impose sanctions on Suarez following his admission.
