Lucas writes off Liverpool's title challenge

Liverpool midfielder Lucas admits that the Premier League title is beyond his side this season.

Liverpool midfielder Lucas has written off the club's title hopes as he believes the Premier League trophy is heading to Manchester.

Manchester City currently lead the way in the Premier League with arch-rivals United in second spot, and Lucas has admitted that he sees a straight two-horse race.

"The title seems pretty much a dispute between the two Manchester clubs," he told The Sun.

"United have won four of the last five Premier League titles, so it is really no surprise they are doing well again."

However, Liverpool could dent Manchester City's title hopes with victory when the two sides meet at Anfield on Sunday.
