Liverpool are interested in Benfica forward Nico Gaitan, according to reports in Portugal.
Portuguese newspaper Record understands that Liverpool are ready to join Manchester United in the race to sign the highly-rated Argentinean.
It was revealed by Benfica president Luis Felipe Vieira that Benfica would be forced to sell players this summer in order to balance their books.
Gaitan is contracted until 2016, but it is believed that the 24-year-old would be available for transfer if Benfica recieved a notable offer.
