Jurgen Klopp 'wanted by Real Madrid, Barcelona'

La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona both want Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, according to a report.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are both reportedly interested in Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The 52-year-old has been in charge of Liverpool since October 2015, winning 124 of his 215 matches in charge of the Merseyside giants.

Klopp led the Reds to their sixth European Cup last season, in addition to overseeing a stunning title battle with Manchester City which saw them fall just short at the final hurdle.

This season, Liverpool are already five points clear at the top of the Premier League table having won all five of their matches, the last of which was a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United at the weekend.

According to AS, both Madrid and Barca are planning for life after their current managers with Zinedine Zidane's long-term position at the club in doubt, while Ernesto Valverde's future is also far from secure.

Zidane's relationship with club president Florentino Perez is said to be strained, while Valverde is under pressure to deliver the Champions League title to Camp Nou.

The report claims that Klopp has emerged as the leading candidate for both clubs due to his impressive work since arriving in English football.

Meanwhile, the La Liga giants are also said to be preparing to go head to head for Virgil van Dijk, who has developed into one of the best centre-backs in the world during his time at Anfield.
