Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hit back at comments made by Jamie Carragher towards £75m January signing Virgil van Dijk.
Speaking on Thursday night, Carragher claimed that Van Dijk needed to "lose a bit of weight" after 'failing to hit the ground running' in the early stages of his Liverpool career.
Klopp, however, has insisted that the Reds have no problems over Van Dijk's size, and the German suggested that it is Carragher who could look to shift a few pounds.
"Oh [I have] nothing [to say]. Wow! I'm sure Jamie could lose a little bit of weight but I think Virgil is a big and a tall player. No-one came with me and said we need to work with him," Klopp told reporters.
Van Dijk was left on the bench for Liverpool's 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night, but the former Southampton defender is expected to return to the XI against Tottenham Hotspur.
