LA Galaxy's Steven Gerrard admits he could retire at end of next MLS season

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admits that he could retire at the end of the next MLS season with Los Angeles Galaxy in 2016.

Steven Gerrard has admitted that he could retire at the end of next season with MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy.

The former Liverpool captain, who called an end to his 17-year career at Anfield in the summer, signed an 18-month deal with the Galaxy in July.

In his first season in the United States, Gerrard experienced another title disappointment as Galaxy, who won the MLS crown last season, were knocked out of the playoffs by Seattle Sounders last month.

"It could be my last season as a footballer," Gerrard told reporters. "I certainly don't want to feel like I'm feeling right now come next year.

"I'd love to go out on a high. It's a long season and I only came here for the last four months, but I'll certainly be better for the experience next year."

Gerrard is expected to return to Merseyside this week before heading back to LA for the new season in January.
