Robbie Fowler: Brendan Rodgers 'guaranteed' to get it right at Liverpool

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler 'guarantees' that "unbelievable manager" Brendan Rodgers will get things right at Anfield after a poor start to the season.

Anfield legend Robbie Fowler has no doubts that Brendan Rodgers will eventually mould Liverpool into a post-Luis Suarez force.

Last season's Premier League runners-up have struggled to 11th at this stage of the season, with many of their eight summer signings failing to impress thus far.

Former goalscoring hero Fowler has dismissed suggestions that the Reds got their transfer policy wrong by bringing in so many new faces rather than one world-class player with the £75m that they received from Barcelona for Suarez.

He feels that the Liverpool squad is "bigger and better" than it was last season and has guaranteed that "unbelievable manager" Rodgers will find the formula for success in the long run.

Fowler told FourFourTwo: "Liverpool's problem last season was a lack of depth in the squad. So it was always going to be a case of bringing in a lot of new players.

"Brendan Rodgers is an unbelievable manager and it's a guarantee that he will get it right.

"Liverpool are fighting on four fronts this year with the Premier League, Champions League FA Cup and League Cup, so it is important that squad was much bigger and better than last year."

The Merseysiders bought Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Alberto Moreno, Lazar Markovic, Divock Origi and Mario Balotelli for upwards of £120m during the summer transfer window.
