Steve Clarke reveals that Kenny Dalglish sent him a good luck message ahead of West Brom's victory over Liverpool.

West Bromwich Albion head coach Steve Clarke has revealed that he received a good luck message from ex-Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish ahead of the Baggies' win at Anfield.

The 49-year-old, who used to work alongside Dalglish at the Merseyside club last season, managed to secure a surprise 2-0 victory over the Reds following a poor run of form.

"Kenny Dalglish sent me a text wishing me good luck, which was nice," the Birmingham Mail quotes Clarke as saying. "I'm not sure he meant it mind."

The Baggies leapfrogged Liverpool into eighth place in the Premier League table following last night's win.
