Liverpool striker Andy Carroll heads straight down the tunnel after he was substituted against his former club Newcastle United this afternoon.

Manager Kenny Dalglish decided to replace his £35m signing with Dirk Kuyt in the 78th minute at the Sports Direct Arena.

Carroll responded by heading straight down the tunnel without acknowledging his manager.

It rounded off a negative afternoon for the 23-year-old, who was booked earlier in the match by referee Martin Atkinson for diving inside the penalty area.
