Arsenal are reportedly the latest Premier League club to register an interest in Sporting Lisbon youngster Nuno Mendes.

The recently-turned 18-year-old has already been linked with Manchester United and Liverpool after making nine top-flight appearances for Sporting last season.

Predominantly used as a left wing-back, Mendes is said to have also caught the eye of AC Milan, who are rumoured to have had a £13.5m bid rejected earlier this summer.

Portuguese outlet O Jogo reports that Arsenal are now ready to make an approach for the Sporting academy player, but they may have to pay around £40m for his services.

Mendes recently signed a five-year deal at the Estadio Jose Alvalade and the Primeira Liga outfit are under no pressure to sell.

Aston Villa have reportedly turned to Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster in their search for a striker ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Villans missed out on the signing of Bournemouth's Callum Wilson on Monday, the England international instead choosing to join Premier League rivals Newcastle United.

According to The Sun, Villa boss Dean Smith is now becoming frantic in his search for a goalscorer and has targeted Liverpool academy product Brewster.

Brewster starred during a spell on loan with Swansea City last season, scoring 11 goals in 22 Championship appearances.

The 20-year-old is valued at £20m by the Reds and is also believed to be a target for Sheffield United.

Villa kick off their 2020-21 Premier League campaign with a home match against Sheffield United on September 20.
