Eddie Howe: 'Bournemouth do not fear Liverpool'

Eddie Howe insists that Bournemouth have no reason to fear Liverpool ahead of their League Cup quarter-final clash.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has insisted that his side will play without fear when they meet Liverpool in the League Cup quarter-final on Wednesday evening.

Howe's side are full of confidence sitting at the top of the Championship, and he has backed his players to stick to their attacking approach against a Liverpool side struggling for form.

"We certainly respect Liverpool but I don't think we should fear anybody, no matter what our form," the Cherries boss told reporters.

"Part of our blueprint is to be positive and to go into games and try to attack. I don't think this game will be any different.

"At the moment the lads look really confident in front of goal and to have a chance of being successful you need that confidence to run right through the team."

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers claimed in his pre-match press conference that his players will be in for a tough test against a "good quality" Bournemouth side.
