Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Curtis Jones return to Liverpool training

Liverpool welcome Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones back to full training ahead of the Premier League meeting with Leicester City on Tuesday.

Liverpool have been handed a triple injury boost with Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones all returning to full training on Friday.

Each member of the trio was affected by the club's recent COVID-19 cluster, with Thiago Alcantara also forced into self-isolation after a positive test.

Jones has also been dealing with a serious eye injury in recent weeks, but the midfielder was pictured back alongside Van Dijk and Fabinho in Liverpool training on Christmas Eve.

The three players are therefore considered to have good chances of returning to action against Leicester City on Tuesday, with the proposed Boxing Day clash with Leeds United postponed due to the Whites' own absentee issues.

Jurgen Klopp remains without Thiago, though, with the former Bayern Munich man not returning to training alongside his teammates as he continues to self-isolate.

Nat Phillips, Harvey Elliott and Divock Origi are all nursing injuries, while Andy Robertson will miss the clashes with Leicester and Chelsea through suspension.
