Liverpool duo Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez return to training ahead of Thursday's Premier League clash with Leicester City after recovering from COVID-19.

Liverpool duo Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez have both returned to training ahead of Thursday's Premier League clash with Leicester City.

The pair recorded positive coronavirus tests before the FA Cup win over Cardiff City and played no part in that 3-1 win at Anfield on Sunday lunchtime.

However, both Gomez and Oxlade-Chamberlain have now completed their isolation periods, and Jurgen Klopp expects to have the two players at his disposal against the Foxes.

When asked by liverpoolfc.com if he had any fresh concerns to report, Klopp said: "Not that I know of in the moment, but we are not too far away from training at this moment so I should know [soon]. But, no.

"Oxlade and Joe are back in training, which is good – they had COVID last week. In the next few days and weeks, we here at Liverpool will have probably all had it and that's then at least something good in that. But no, no new injuries or anything like that."

The Reds boss has also confirmed that Mohamed Salah could be in contention to feature against Leicester, but Africa Cup of Nations champion Sadio Mane will not be available.
