Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has been forced to defend his comments about Liverpool's FA Cup fifth-round celebrations on Twitter after angering a number of Reds fans.
The businessman witnessed his side relinquish a one-goal lead to suffer a 2-1 defeat in Saturday night's encounter at Selhurst Park.
On Sunday night, Parish tweeted: "When we took over we just avoided going to the third tier. Yesterday #LFC beat us. They are celebrating like they won the league #progress."
Some Liverpool supporters appeared to take offence to Parish's remarks, but he defended his claims to them by tweeting, "I love #LFC great club just saying we have come a long way," and "you're so wrong , we are nothing but joyful , wish you all the best hope you win it."
Prior to Saturday's encounter, Liverpool failed to beat Palace in two previous meetings.
