Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard are both left out of the Liverpool squad for their Europa League clash with Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia on Thursday.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has named a youthful squad for their Europa League clash with Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia on Thursday.

The Reds face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday and therefore Rodgers has left his experienced player behind on Merseyside.

Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard have both been left out, along with Joe Allen, Nuri Sahin, Daniel Agger, Jose Reina, Glen Johnson, Raheem Sterling and Jose Enrique.

Liverpool currently occupy first spot in Group A.
