Europa League roundup: Holders Sevilla beat Borussia Monchengladbach

Sports Mole rounds up Thursday's late Europa League action.

Ajax secured a slender 1-0 lead in their Europa League last-32 first-leg tie against Legia Warsaw in Thursday evening's clash at the Amsterdam ArenA, Arkadiusz Milik scoring the only goal of the game in the first half.

In Spain, Villarreal defeated Red Bull Salzburg thanks to strikes from Ikechukwu Uche and Denis Cheryshev either side of a Jonathan Soriano penalty, while Anderlecht and Dynamo Moscow played out a goalless draw in Belgium.

Europa League Holders Sevilla will take a slight advantage into their second-leg tie against Borussia Monchengladbach, thanks to a Vicente Iborra goal that gave the Spaniards a 1-0 win.

Guingamp came back from a goal down to win 2-1 against nine-man Dynamo Kiev, Claudio Beauvue and Mustapha Diallo giving the French outfit a slender advantage heading into the second leg.

With regards to the domestic sides, Celtic held Inter Milan to a 3-3 draw, Tottenham Hotspur drew 1-1 with Fiorentina, and Liverpool edged Besiktas 1-0.
