England awarded extra Europa League spot based on Fair Play

UEFA announces that England have been awarded an extra spot for next season's Europa League based on Fair Play.

England have been handed an extra place for next season's Europa League competition based on Fair Play rankings.

On Friday, UEFA announced that additional spots will be granted to the Netherlands, England and the Republic of Ireland as they sit first, second and third in the Respect Fair Play table.

Liverpool currently top the rankings with regards to English clubs, but as of now, they are on course to qualify through their position in the Premier League table.

West Ham United are favourites to be handed the extra place as they sit second in the Fair Play table, while Everton reside third.

The new Europa League club will compete in the first qualifying round on July 1 and could play as many as six games before the league season begins.
