Andrew Robertson: 'Liverpool up for semi-final challenge'

Andrew Robertson admits that "there is going to be no easy way" for Liverpool to reach the final of the Champions League, as he turns his attention to Friday's draw.

Liverpool full-back Andrew Robertson has insisted that he has no preference as to who he would like to face in the Champions League semi-finals.

The Reds are joined by Roma in the hat for the last four of the competition following Tuesday's 2-1 win over Manchester City, adding to their 3-0 triumph from the first leg.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are favourites to progress through from their ties later today, meanwhile, up against Juventus and Sevilla respectively, and Robertson acknowledges that Liverpool will have to be on the top of their game no matter who they face.

"It is the semi-final, it doesn't matter who we get," he told reporters. "Roma got an unbelievable result tonight, they've put out Barcelona - we all know what a great side they are.

"We will look forward to the draw. There is going to be no easy way into the final but we'll be up to the challenge and hopefully we'll do enough.

"We knew how hard it was going to be over the two legs. They've been the best team in our league hands down this season. They will go on to be rightfully champions and well done to them for that, but over the two legs I think we've been the better team.

"Especially in the first leg when we dominated the first half, really that won us the tie. We've grabbed a couple of away goals and we're delighted to be in the semi-finals. We knew how hard it was going to be but luckily we've stood up to that challenge."

The semi-final draw takes place in Nyon, Switzerland at 1pm on Friday.
