Lille coach Rudi Garcia has blamed a "lapse in intelligence" for his team throwing away a two-goal lead against Auxerre.
A brace from Belgian wonderkid Eden Hazard looked to have secured all three points for the reigning champions, before goals from Ben Sahar and Cedric Hengebart snatched a point for the visitors.
"There's a real feeling of an opportunity lost tonight," said Garcia. "We were 2-0 up but then we lapsed in rigour and intelligence.
"When both sides went down to ten men, I thought we would win. But we really need to work on our fundamentals in defence; it's a big problem for us.
"We should have won this match and we need to fix the problem immediately."
The result means Lille remain third in Ligue 1, seven points adrift of Montpellier HSC.
