Russell Slade plays down West Bromwich Albion speculation

Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade plays down speculation linking him with West Bromwich Albion.

Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade has played down speculation linking him with the managerial vacancy at West Bromwich Albion.

The 53-year-old has guided Orient to this season's League One playoff final following a strong campaign in English football's third tier.

Despite reports claiming that he could take over at The Hawthorns this summer, Slade insists that his main focus is at the Matchroom Stadium.

"It's nice to be linked to a Premier League club when you are a League One manager," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "There are some really talented managers outside the Premier League, under people's noses, but they don't get recognised.

"But the total focus is my football club. It's speculation and I just want to get us into the Championship."

Slade joined Orient in 2010 after spending a brief spell with Brighton & Hove Albion.
