Everton and Leicester City are reportedly locked in a two-way battle to sign Montpellier left-back Jerome Roussillon.
The former France Under-20 star's performances are said to have caught the attention of a number of Premier League clubs but, according to The Sun, the Blues and the Foxes have emerged as the frontrunners to sign him.
Both teams are said to have tabled bids for Roussillon but it is unclear whether they meet Montpellier's valuation of £6m.
Everton are believed to be seeking a replacement for veteran left-back Leighton Baines, while the Foxes are reportedly aiming to bolster their defence with Christian Fuchs's contract due to expire next summer.
Roussillon, who scored three goals and provided as many assists last season, has one year remaining on his current contract.
