Kasper Schmeichel delighted with "tough" win

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel reveals his delight after Saturday's 1-0 win at Watford put the Foxes five points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has revealed his delight after his team moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 win at Watford on Saturday.

Riyad Mahrez scored the only goal of the match to hand the visitors all the points, and the Dane has admitted that two half-time changes helped the Foxes regain control in the second period.

The 29-year-old also paid tribute to his back four, claiming that it is an "absolute joy and privilege" to play behind a defence that are willing to put their bodies on line for the cause.

"It was very tough. We knew it was going to be a tight game and we would have to come up with a bit of magic," Schmeichel told Sky Sports News. "We started the game quite well, before losing our way in the middle. The manager made two changes at the break though and it gave us more stability and more balance.

"It is an absolute joy and privilege to play behind those boys. They lay everything out there and as a goalkeeper, they are a dream to play behind. I will not single anyone out, they all deserve praise."

Leicester are currently five points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur and eight clear of third-placed Arsenal.
