Leicester City boss Claude Puel suggests that his side will need to beat Burnley in the Premier League if the Foxes want to challenge for a Europa League spot.

Leicester City manager Claude Puel has suggested that his side must beat Burnley this weekend should the Foxes want to challenge for a Europa League finish this season.

The former Premier League champions go into Saturday's contest in eighth place in the table, six points behind seventh-placed Burnley.

Seventh would be enough to clinch a Europa spot should Southampton not win the FA Cup, and Puel has insisted that his players must give themselves a fighting chance of appearing on the continent by ending the season strongly.

"Yes. Of course it is a decisive game, an important game. We need a result," Puel told reporters when asked if the match was a must-win game.

"These next two games, including the one against Southampton, will decide if we play for something at the end of the season or not. It will be a good challenge."

The Foxes found themselves in 14th spot in the table and just one point above the relegation places when Puel took over from Craig Shakespeare in October 2017.
