Jamie Vardy: 'Leicester City must target win at Bournemouth'

Jamie Vardy: 'Leicester must target win'

Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy says that the Foxes must target all three points when they travel to the south coast to play Bournemouth.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has acknowledged that his strong start to the season is irrelevant unless the Foxes can benefit from his goals.

Vardy has netted five times in six Premier League appearances this season, but Leicester only sit in 17th place in the standings after registering four points.

The East Midlands outfit only remain outside of the relegation zone on goal difference, and Vardy has said that Craig Shakespeare's team must target three points when they play Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The 30-year-old is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "It's always good to get goals but the points are the main thing. We've only got four on the board up to now. Bournemouth's massive for us. If we can get the win it's a good three points before we get a little break with the internationals.

"We're playing well, we're just not getting any points so I think it's time we started playing well and picking points up.

"We didn't play too well at Huddersfield and managed to get a point so we'll have to get back on the training field and work on how we can hurt Bournemouth and hopefully come away with a win."

Vardy has been ruled out of international duty with England due to a hip injury, but the frontman is expected to have an injection in order to feature at the Vitality Stadium.
