Claudio Ranieri relieved over Jamie Vardy injury

Claudio Ranieri admits that he was revealed to see Jamie Vardy get back up again after Leicester City's top scorer looked to have been injured against Norwich City.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has revealed his relief that Jamie Vardy was not seriously injured in the 2-1 victory over Norwich City on Saturday.

Vardy had already scored his seventh goal of the season from the penalty spot by the time that he collapsed after a challenge with Robbie Brady with 11 minutes to play.

However, the Foxes top scorer was fit enough to continue, nearly scoring a second goal minutes later, and his manager has admitted that he was relieved that no serious damage looks to have been done to the England international.

"Jamie Vardy had a good performance but so did everyone else," Ranieri told reporters. "I thought 'oh my god, he is injured seriously' but he is OK and stable now.

"We responded very well after our defeat against Arsenal and we showed good character and it was a good performance. The second half was battle but we had six or seven chances to score.

"We have 15 points, 25 less than we need. After we get that, we will see what happens."

Leicester moved up to fourth in the Premier League table with the victory.
