Report: Leeds United target Lewis Cook loan return

A report claims that Lewis Cook could be heading back to Leeds United on loan, having failed to make an impression during the early stages of his Bournemouth career.

Leeds United are reportedly looking to bring midfielder Lewis Cook back to Elland Road on loan, just three months after he departed for Premier League side Bournemouth.

The 19-year-old has not had the desired impact on the south coast thus far, having appeared just once in the top flight and twice in the EFL Cup.

It is claimed by the Bournemouth Echo that Leeds are willing to bring the England Under-20s international back on board when the transfer window opens in January, albeit on a temporary deal until the end of the campaign.

Jack Wilshere's arrival at Dean Court on transfer deadline day has further dented Cook's hopes of earning a place in the first-team fold, with Eddie Howe restricting the youngster to a total of 80 minutes in the league - all coming in the opening-weekend clash with Manchester United.

Cook spent 12 years with Leeds, making 80 appearances for the senior team after breaking through the academy ranks in 2014.
