Leeds United considering move for Birmingham City goalkeeper David Stockdale?

Birmingham City goalkeeper David Stockdale has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Leeds United.

Stockdale joined Birmingham from Fulham last summer in the hope of contributing to a promotion challenge, but the Blues spent the season competing at the wrong end of the Championship table.

Reports have suggested that the West Midlands outfit are prepared to part ways with Stockdale before the start of next season and according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds could launch a bid for the 32-year-old.

Head coach Paul Heckingbottom is allegedly in the market for a new stopper to provide competition for youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Stockdale still has just over two years remaining on his contract, but Leeds will hope to sign the Englishman for a cut-price fee.

The Lilywhites have also been linked with a season-long loan deal for Manchester City's Angus Gunn.
