Leeds United have completed the signing of Stoke City midfielder Michael Tongue on a loan deal until December.
Tongue was not named on the Potters' 25-man Premier League squad list and was therefore open to a move in order to secure regular first-team action.
United manager Neil Warnock has made no secret of his desire to bring in another midfielder after both Paul Green and David Norris suffered injuries at the beginning of the campaign.
The Championship outfit had been linked with Tottenham Hotspur's former England international Jermaine Jenas, but it is Tonge who has instead made the move to Elland Road.
The 29-year-old joined Stoke from Sheffield United in 2008 and has previously had loan spells at Derby County, Preston North End and Barnsley.
