Leeds United will be seeking to avoid an unwanted 58-year record for goals conceded in the top flight when they face Leicester City in the Premier League contest on Saturday.

Leeds United will be seeking to avoid an unwanted 58-year record for goals conceded when they travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City for their Premier League contest on Saturday lunchtime.

The Whites have lost five and drawn one of their last six top-flight matches and have conceded an alarming 21 goals in the process, a poor run of form which saw much-loved head coach Marcelo Bielsa part company with the club last week.

Leeds conceded at least three goals in all five of their Premier League fixtures in February, setting a top-flight record for the most goals conceded in a single calendar month (20).

Under the tutelage of American boss Jesse Marsch, who will take charge of his first Leeds game at Leicester this weekend, the West Yorkshire outfit will be hoping to avoid becoming the first team since Birmingham City between October and December in 1964 to concede three or more goals for the sixth consecutive top-flight game.

Leicester have found the net in each of their last five meetings with Leeds and two of which saw the Foxes score at least three goals, winning 3-1 on home soil in October 2017 and 4-1 at Elland Road in November 2020.

Leeds currently sit 16th in the table, just two points above the bottom three, while 18th-placed Burnley and 17th-placed Everton have at least one game in hand.
