David Hockaday disappointed by Leeds United defeat

Leeds boss David Hockaday admits that his team has 'lots of work to do' following their 2-0 defeat to Millwall in their Championship season opener.

Leeds United manager David Hockaday has admitted that his players have "lots to work on" following Saturday's defeat to Millwall in the Championship.

United got their league campaign off to a losing start at The Den as they went down 2-0 to Ian Holloway's side.

"I wasn't happy with our performance in the first half. We didn't get up to the pace and they looked hungrier. Second half we made a game of it and had chances we really should be hitting the net with," Hockaday told BBC Sport.

"There is lots to work on, but I have learned a lot about the players because we were playing in a cauldron here and some coped better than others."

Leeds return to action on Tuesday when they host Accrington Stanley in the first round of the League Cup.
