Atalanta 0-2 Lazio

Libor Kozak and Lorik Cana both score as Lazio beat Atalanta to go fourth in Serie A.

Lazio have moved up to fourth in Serie A with a 2-0 victory away to Atalanta.

Both teams struggled to break down each other's defence in the first half and chances were limited to long-range efforts with neither goalkeeper being troubled.

Libor Kozak had Lazio's first real chance and the striker put the visitors ahead with an accurate finish from inside the area following a free kick from Gianpaolo Bellini.

Atalanta struggled to trouble Lazio with their forward line looking far from dangerous until deep into the second period when Manolo Gabbialdini forced a good save from Albano Bizarri from outside the box.

Lazio almost extended their lead with ten minutes remaining but Abdoulay Konko was superbly denied by Bizarri.

Atalanta's hopes look to have ended in the final stages when Gugliemlo Stendardo was shown a straight red card for a foul on Stefano Mauri.

Cana secured the points for Lazio with a minute remaining as he rifled his shot into teh top corner from outside the area.
