Kilmarnock manager Gary Locke resigns

Kilmarnock manager Gary Locke steps down from his role with the club second bottom in the Scottish Premiership.

Gary Locke has resigned as manager of Kilmarnock after just nine months in charge of the Scottish Premiership side.

The former Hearts boss leaves with the Killies second bottom of the division following Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Hamilton Academical at Rugby Park.

In a statement confirming Locke's departure, Kilmarnock said: "The board of directors would like to thank Gary for his time with the club and wish him every success in the future."

Locke will be replaced on an interim basis by Lee McCulloch, who joined the side as a player-coach last July.
