Juventus warn Galatasaray over Wesley Sneijder deal

Juventus warn Galatasaray that they will not be held to ransom over signing £15m-rated Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder in the winter transfer window.

Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has said that the Italians will not be held to ransom for Galatasaray ace Wesley Sneijder.

Bianconeri boss Massimiliano Allegri confirmed an interest in signing the Netherlands international recently as speculation continues to grow over a January switch to Turin.

The Turkish giants are reportedly unwilling to negotiate for any fee less than the 30-year-old's £15m buyout clause, but Marotta says that Juve will only sign him on their terms.

"There isn't a genuine negotiation in place yet, as we only got information on the player's intentions," he told Sky Sport Italia. "If we have the opportunity to get him on our terms, then that's fine.

"Galatasaray want big money that we absolutely do not intend on spending. In the January market you seek opportunities.

"We already have a satisfying squad, so if impressive opportunities arise, then we will grab them, but at the moment there are none. We are not in an emergency situation, so are in no rush to buy."

Manchester United are also reportedly keen on the Dutchman, who played under Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal at international level.
