Juventus keen to keep Gianluigi Buffon, Carlos Tevez

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta reveals that the club wants Gianluigi Buffon and Carlos Tevez to sign new contracts.

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that the club is eager to tie Gianluigi Buffon and Carlos Tevez down to new deals.

Veteran goalkeeper Buffon's current contract with the Italian champions is due to expire in 2017, while striker Tevez's is up at the end of next season.

Marotta has made it clear that the club is particularly keen on getting Tevez to stay following claims from the Argentine that he would like to return to his home country before the end of his career.

"We would like to extend the contracts of Buffon and Tevez," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "They are an integral part of this Juventus. They are excellent players, true professionals.

"They decide their own future. From our side, a signed blank cheque is waiting for them. As for Tevez's individual situation, we have a desire to keep him at the club for many more years."

Juventus currently sit nine points clear at the top of the Serie A table following last night's 1-1 draw with title rivals Roma.
