Carlo Ancelotti hails Nicolas Anelka as a "great player" and backs the Frenchman to succeed at Juventus.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti believes that Nicolas Anelka will prove to be a successful signing for Juventus.

The 33-year-old, who recently trained with PSG, has joined the Italian champions from Shanghai Shenhua on loan for the remainder of the season.

"Anelka is a great player," Ancelotti told reporters. "He trained with us for a week and can play in any club in the world, so I'm sure he'll do well in Turin.

"He is coming off a vacation and, just like everyone who has not played for a while, he will need the right training schedule."

Anelka joined Shenhua in January 2012.
