Carlos Tevez scored his first Serie A hat-trick as leaders Juventus romped past Sassuolo 4-0 to respond emphatically to being dumped out of the Champions League in midweek.

The Argentinian opened the scoring on the quarter-hour mark by tucking home a loose rebound in the area before curling over a free kick in the 28th minute for Federico Peluso to head home.
It was three before half time as Juve's total dominance resulted in Tevez's second. The former Manchester City player collected a poor clearance from Sassuolo defender Lino Marzoratti and calmly found the net.
Tevez completed his hat-trick midway through the second half by finishing Mauricio Isla's cross low into the net.

Gaetano Masucci had a late chance for Sassuolo to score a consolation but headed wide from near the penalty spot.
Three points take Juve six clear of Roma, who travel to AC Milan tomorrow night, at the top of Serie A.
