Paul Pogba brace fires Juventus to victory

Paul Pogba scores a brace and Carlos Tevez also finds the net to fire Juventus to a comfortable 3-0 win over Lazio in their Serie A clash.

Juventus maintained their lead at the top of Serie A as a brace from Paul Pogba saw them cruise to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Lazio this evening.

The home side went close in the 11th minute of the game when Stefan de Vrij ran onto a cross from the left, but he could only guide his header over the crossbar.

Juventus responded with a decent chance of their own as Carlos Tevez found space down the right, and he fired a low shot at goal which went inches past the post.

The visitors took the lead in the 25th minute when Tevez picked out the run from deep of Pogba with an incisive cross-field ball, and the Frenchman provided a clinical finish as he found the bottom corner.

Pogba nearly scored a second when he received the ball down the left and took a step inside back onto his right foot. The midfielder then curled the ball towards the top corner, but his strike hit the post and bounced clear.

In the second half, Juventus doubled their lead when Claudio Marchisio raided forward down the right on a counter-attack, and he squared the ball to Tevez, who fired the ball home with great composure.

Antonio Candreva tried to bring Lazio back into the game as he pushed his side forward and decided to let fly from distance, and only a good save from Gianluigi Buffon stopped the ball from finding the net.

Pogba secured the win for his side when he latched onto a through ball from Roberto Pereyra and slotted his effort past Federico Marchetti.

The visitors were forced to shift tactics when Simone Padoin was sent off for a second bookable offence, but they still held out comfortably for the three points.
