Antonio Conte thanks Juventus

Antonio Conte thanks Juventus following his decision to step down as manager despite leading the club to three consecutive Serie A titles.

Antonio Conte has thanked Juventus after parting company with the club by mutual consent this evening.

The 44-year-old stepped down from his role as manager of the club despite leading them to a third consecutive Serie A title last season.

Conte, who took charge of the team in 2011 having left his position at Siena, also spent 13 years as a player at Juventus and took the time to thank the club for their support during his association with them.

"I have decided to terminate my contract with Juventus," he told the club's official website.

"I have matured with time and my feelings led me to make this choice. It may be more difficult to keep winning with Juventus.

"An enormous thank you for what you have given to me as a player and as a coach. I have always been close to you. I want to say that the journey taken in recent years has been historic."

Conte is one of the most decorated players in Juventus history having won five Serie A titles, a Champions League, a UEFA Cup and a Coppa Italia during his time in Turin.
