Gianluca Vialli believes that Mario Balotelli should start for Italy in their World Cup opener against England.
The 23-year-old has come in for criticism for his displays for AC Milan this season, but Vialli is adamant that he should be leading their attack against the Three Lions in Manaus.
"I think it's only right to start with Balotelli," Vialli told Sky Sport Italia.
"He had a very good Euro 2012 and Confederations Cup. He earned his starting spot in the Italy side, as long as he does the dirty work and plays for the team.
"Will it be [Ciro] Immobile's World Cup? If it is to become his tournament, then we'll see straight away if something happens."
Balotelli has scored 12 goals in his 30 appearances for the Azzurri.
