AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy should recover from an ankle problem in time for Italy's World Cup qualifier with the Czech Republic next week, according to national team doctors.
El Shaarawy aggravated a persistent ankle problem training with the Azzurri yesterday after a clash with Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna.
Azzurri team doctor Enrico Castellacci has insisted that the forward's ankle injury is minor and will be monitored carefully ahead of the trip to Prague on June 7.
Castellacci is quoted by Football Italia as saying: "As we expected, the tests showed no big problems other than heavy bruising, so we hope he can recover quickly.
"We will evaluate along with the player when to put him back in full training, because there are some very important interests at stake.
"The objective is to have him fully recovered to play in Prague and we don't think he is at risk for that game."
Cesare Prandelli's side will face the Czechs before flying out to Brazil for the Confederations Cup.
