Italian Football Federation president Giancarlo Abete has revealed that national team manager Cesare Prandelli will remain as coach for another two years.
Abete has insisted that the 54-year-old's future with the Azzurri will not be dependent on whether Italy progresses to the quarter-finals of Euro 2012 or not.
"Whatever the final result, Prandelli and the federation will continue their relationship for another two years," Abete told Sky Sport Italia.
"At the moment, we are not making assumptions [about going out], even if it were to happen, because we will talk about it then for weeks. But we'll do that only in the event of a negative outcome. The team is there, the concentration is there - we deserve to go through."
Italy will take on Group C opponents Republic of Ireland this evening.
