Former England coach Fabio Capello believes that the Euro 2012 final will be a rematch from the last tournament between Spain and Germany.

Fabio Capello has predicted that his native Italy will beat England and the final will be contested by Spain and Germany.

The former England coach has envisaged a repeat of the Euro 2008 final, earmarking Spain and Germany as the two standout teams at Euro 2012.

Capello began the year as England coach before being replaced by Roy Hodgson.

"I have contrasting sentiments about Sunday's game," the former Milan, Roma and Juventus boss stated.

"I worked with England for four years and I can't easily forget that. However, Spain and Germany will be the two finalists at Euro 2012.

"Germany have an incredible spirit and have real strength, while Spain are the side who play the best football even if they are missing something in attack – they need a player like Lionel Messi.

"Generally speaking, I think that these two sides are superior to the rest of the teams in the competition."

Germany will face Greece in the last eight, while reigning champions Spain will have to hurdle France in the quarter-finals.
