Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed that forward Luke Varney will leave the club this summer.
Varney, 33, signed a short-term deal in December after recovering from an Achilles injury with Ipswich, where he was on loan last season, and has since scored once in 20 appearances.
However, McCarthy said that he would not earn a new contract, with Ipswich already having four strikers on the books.
"I have spoken to [Luke] today and told him we won't be offering him anything," McCarthy told the club website.
"He's a top professional and a top person and I'd like to think we have both been good for each other. We looked after him when he snapped his Achilles and he has repaid us with his professionalism and what he has done on the pitch for us.
"We have four strikers though, [Daryl Murphy], [David McGoldrick], Freddie [Sears] and Brett Pitman and they have been in front of him because of injury and one reason and another."
Midfielder Jay Tabb will also make his Ipswich exit, but Kevin Foley could be offered a fresh deal.
