Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has suggested that he may look to use David McGoldrick as a midfielder over the coming weeks.
The 25-year-old striker is Ipswich's leading goalscorer this term, having found the net on six occasions.
However, he was dropped back into a central midfield role during the weekend's 3-2 win away at Blackpool and McCarthy has conceded that it is a switch that he is likely to consider again.
"I think Didz can drop in and play in midfield," the Eastern Daily Times quotes McCarthy as saying. "He's such a clever footballer and maybe this role could suit him.
"This might allow him to find his spaces and play. He's certainly got a pass in him. He's a good player."
McGoldrick joined Ipswich in the summer from fellow Championship side Nottingham Forest.
