Mick McCarthy: 'We can take advantage of relaxed Burnley side'

Mick McCarthy believes that Ipswich Town may be facing a relaxed Burnley side on Saturday afternoon.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has suggested that his side may be able to take advantage of a relaxed mood in the Burnley squad on Saturday.

The Tractor Boys are still in the hunt for the final playoff spot in the Championship, and McCarthy believes that Burnley might head into the match slightly below their best after securing promotion earlier this week.

"Going up there is a tough ask," the Ipswich boss told members of the media. "But they will have been enjoying themselves this week - and rightly so.

"If there's ever a chance to take advantage maybe it's this weekend because when you get promoted you relax. I know it can happen because I've been there and done it.

"You've been as tight as a piano wire working at it and suddenly you relax. You've achieved what you want to achieve and it's hard then just to get back to that level."

Ipswich are currently four points behind Brighton & Hove Albion, who occupy sixth spot in the table.
