Report: St Mirren give Ipswich Town permission to speak to Jack Ross

St Mirren give Ipswich Town permission to speak to their manager Jack Ross about succeeding Mick McCarthy, according to reports.

Ipswich Town have been given permission to speak to St Mirren manager Jack Ross about succeeding Mick McCarthy, according to reports.

The 41-year-old guided the Paisley club to the Scottish Championship title this season, just 18 months after inheriting a team that was bottom of the second tier.

Ipswich, meanwhile, finished 12th in the Championship table this season, with McCarthy departing four games before the end of the campaign.

According to the East Anglian Daily Times, the Blues will now be able to interview Ross over the vacant manager's position at Portman Road after being given permission by his current employers.

Ross was reportedly interviewed for the Barnsley job in February, when St Mirren were 14 points clear at the top of their division.
